
Here are some examples:
Masaya ako – I am happy.
e.g. Masaya ako dahil nagkabati na kami. (I am happy because we have made up)
Natutuwa ako – I am glad
e.g. Natutuwa akong makita ka ulit. (I am glad to see you again)
Nalulungkot ako – I am sad.
e.g. Nalulungkot ako dahil aalis ka na. (I feel sad because you will already leave)
Nagsasawa na ako – I am getting sick of this.
e.g. Nagsasawa na ako sa mga dahilan mo. (I am getting sick of your excuses)
Suko na ako – I give up.
Nahihiya ako – I feel shy/ I am embarrassed.
e.g. Nahihiya ako dahil sa mga nasabi ko. (I feel embarrassed because of the things that I have said)
Nalilito ako / Naguguluhan ako – I am confused.
e.g. Nalilito ako, pwede bang paki-ulit? (I am confused, can you please repeat that?)
Umaasa ako – I am hoping that…
e.g. Umaasa ako na maaayos din ang lahat. (I am hoping that everything will turn out fine)
Nahihirapan ako – I am having trouble…. / I am having a hard time….
e.g. Nahihirapan akong sabihin ang nararamdaman ko (I am having a hard time saying how I feel.)
Nasasaktan ako – I feel hurt.
e.g. Nasasaktan ako kapag nakikita kitang ganyan. (I feel hurt when I see you like that.)
Naiinis ako. – I feel annoyed.
e.g. Naiinis ako tuwing ginagawa mo iyan. (I feel annoyed everytime you do that.)
Those are some examples of how you can express your feelings in Tagalog. The examples given above only covered those related with your emotions, though, what about those that relate to your physical state? Read the examples below to find out:
Nagugutom ako. – I am hungry
e.g. Nagugutom na ako. Hindi pa ba tayo kakain? (I am already hungry. Aren’t we going to eat yet?)
Nauuhaw ako – I am thirsty.
e.g. Nauuhaw ako. May maiinom ka ba diyan? (I am thirsty. Do you have anything that I can drink there?)
Inaantok ako – I am sleepy.
e.g. Inaantok na ako. Matagal pa ba iyan? (I am getting sleepy. Will that take a long time?)
Sumasakit ang tiyan ko – My stomach hurts.
Kailangan kong gumamit ng banyo – I need to use the restroom.
Pagod ako– I am tired.
e.g. Pagod ako. Pwede bang bukas na lang natin gawin ito? (I am tired. Can we just do this tomorrow?)
Napapagod na ako – I am getting tired.
e.g. Napapagod na ako. Magpahinga muna tayo. (I am getting tired. Let’s take a rest for now)
Nangangalay ang balikat ko – My shoulder feels strained.
Napapahatsing/ Napapabahing ako – I feel like I’m going to sneeze
Nangangati ang palad ko – My palm itches.
